Beautiful Mount Usu & Lake Toya

Mount Usu is very beautiful! It takes about 6 mins cable ride to reach to the top. It is not big, you can climb up a short stair to reach another observatory deck which has better view. There is a stall selling simple snacks and drinks as well as ice cream. You can finish the walk in one hour.

To reach Mt Usu, you can take a bus from Toya JR Station to Lake Toya Bus Terminal that take about 30mins where the frequency is quite ok like 20mins. From there, there is another shuttle bus to reach Mt Usu cable car station which take about 15mins. But bear in mind that shuttle bus from Lake Toya Terminal is not available during winter and that you have to take Taxi which cost about 2000yen one way. You can ask the staffs in counter to help you in taxi booking.

Before continue to Mt Usu, you can take a short walk to Lake Toya which is also nearby. 45mins walk should be more than enough.
