Lake Toya (aka Toyako) is hands down one of the most famous chill spots in Hokkaido! If you're an introvert like me, trust—just sitting by the lake and soaking in those peaceful vibes is next-level calming. 😌✨
There are tons of epic viewpoints scattered around the lake, so you can switch it up—hit a vintage overlook or just wander through the city, and no matter where you are, the different scenes of the lake are always sooo good! The water, the mountains, the changing light... literally every angle is fire for the ‘Gram. 📸
But the real party starts at night during summer. The Lake Toya Fireworks Festival straight up lights up the whole lakeside (address: Toyako Onsen, Lakeside, Hokkaido)! The festival runs during summer from 8:45pm to 9:05pm, Monday to Friday.
Fireworks blasting over the water for weeks? Yup, it’s totally as legendary as it sounds. Grab a spot by the lake, relax, and watch the colors explode—it's super cool and honestly, kind of magical. 🌈🎆
Lake Tōya itself is open all day, every day (address: Hokkaido, Japan), so you can always swing by for your daily nature fix whenever you want. If you’re looking for a chill escape with a jaw-dropping view and a little summer sparkle, this place delivers every time!
