Xiamen's Yanwu Bridge is considered the closest bridge to sea level. The Yanwu Bridge Observation Deck, located outside the Yanwu Road Interchange, consists of three piers and a viewing platform. The deck hugs the outer edge of the Yanwu Road Interchange and stretches out into the bay. Standing at various points, closing your eyes, you might even feel like you're flying over the sea. The viewing platform is 824 meters long and covers over 10,000 square meters, equivalent to 27 standard basketball courts. The sea-viewing area is approximately 455 meters long and 33 meters wide at its widest point.
The viewing platform can be accessed from the west entrance behind the Shimao Straits Building, the middle entrance on the west side of Yanwu Road leading to the road outside the seawall, and the east entrance behind the Ocean New Village. You can practically reach out and touch the azure waters of Xiamen Bay.
With its subtropical marine monsoon climate, it is just a platform for viewing the scenery, more suitable for taking a walk and enjoying the sea breeze on summer nights.
It is recommended to watch the night view from the observation deck;
