Wat Buppharam, Trat Province
🙏It is the oldest temple in Trat Province, built in the Ayutthaya period during the reign of King Prasat Thong.
🙏Reclining Buddha Shrine Inside enshrines a reclining Buddha image. It is a single-storey laterite shrine. The pediment and window arches are decorated with Chinese and European porcelain. Inside are murals from the early Rattanakosin period, focusing on floral patterns, animals, and Chinese art and literature.
🙏Ubosot Inside enshrines the principal Buddha image, Luang Pho To, which is a Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya posture. It is believed to have been built during the Ayutthaya period. The Buddha image is made of red sand plastered with cement. The face is smiling and has a special characteristic: the fingers and toes are made to look cloudy white, similar to a human being. There are also murals from the early Rattanakosin period.
