Affordable and atmospheric upstairs yakitori restaurant

My partner has recently become obsessed with yakitori🍡, so we go to eat it from time to time~
Today we came to The Hart, an upstairs yakitori restaurant🔥~
It’s not on the ground floor but it’s still super packed because the prices are very affordable, the cheapest skewer is only 10 HKD😋!

Their grilled zucchini is very juicy💦~
Many people order it all night, you often see grilled zucchini🥒~

Another affordable must-try recommendation is the pork lychee roll🐷, three pieces per skewer~
The lychee is very sweet, paired with the salty pork it’s a perfect match👍~
So after the first round, we ordered another round~

My personal favorite is the squid tentacles🦑, they are very crispy~
Grilled to a slightly charred tip with a bit of smoky aroma, crispy and delicious😍~

Another must-order yakitori is beef tongue👅~
The beef tongue here is very tender, with a hint of black pepper seasoning🧂~
I have to say, the chef’s seasoning is just right👍, no need to add anything else and it’s not too salty~

I also really like the minced chicken sticks🐔~
There’s a bit of cartilage inside, giving a crunchy bite~
Paired with the rich and sweet fresh egg flavor🥚, it’s very memorable~

The garlic grilled oysters are also very tempting🦪, 48 HKD for two, and they are plump and meaty~
Topped with lots of garlic🧄~
One bite with the oyster juice, only the word fresh can describe it~

This Japanese yam is very special, it’s crispy fried yam with a crunchy inside🤩~
It comes with a side of egg yolk sauce~
But I prefer to dip the chicken sticks in the egg soy sauce, which is richer and more flavorful~

My partner loves coriander🌿 and really likes hand-pulled pancakes~
So I had to order the coriander shredded chicken hand-pulled pancake for him📝~
The crispy pancake is stuffed full of fresh coriander...
I was shocked when I saw it, but he was very happy😫~
The shredded chicken is spicy🌶, very refreshing~

They are currently running a buy one get one free beer promotion🍻, it’s great to have a drink with friends~
Unfortunately, my partner doesn’t drink, so I ordered a lychee lemon whisky🍋, the sweet and sour taste is pretty good~
And you can watch the chef grill the skewers right by the stove, making the food taste even better~

📍 Life is limited, so enjoy yakitori
