For a fun and educational weekend, we visited the Tsuyama Railroad Educational Museum (Tsuyama Manabi-no-Tetsudokan) — a must-see for train lovers and families alike! 🚆✨
Built on the site of the former Tsuyama Station, the museum preserves the charm of Japan’s railway history. Inside, you’ll find beautifully restored locomotives and carriages, including classic diesel and steam engines that once powered Japan’s railways. One of the highlights is the turntable and roundhouse, where you can see trains lined up in a semi-circle — a sight that feels straight out of the past.
There are also interactive exhibits where children (and adults!) can learn about how trains operate. It’s the perfect mix of nostalgia and discovery. Whether you’re a train enthusiast or just looking for a unique day trip, this museum offers a delightful glimpse into Japan’s rich railway heritage.
