Lingao Cape, located 10 kilometers from Lingao County, is a cape jutting out into the Qiongzhou Strait. Atop the cape, a 250-meter-long natural tidal barrier juts directly into the sea. Legend has it that this was left by an immortal to guide people. The one-kilometer-long beach on the shore is flanked by natural swimming pools on both sides. One side offers calm waters, clear waters, a flat seabed, and white, soft sand. The other side boasts rolling waves, a breathtaking spectacle of white flocculents, earning it the nickname "Autumn Waves of the South China Sea."
On April 17, 1950, the Chinese People's Liberation Army liberated Hainan by crossing the Qiongzhou Strait on wooden sailboats, first landing at Lingao Cape. The "Blood Monument" standing in the memorial square is the most striking sculpture here. It consists of two stone figures of soldiers standing and shouting in victory, highlighting the site's profound historical significance.
