The painted figurines are a symbol of the deceased's identity, in order to continue to enjoy the aristocratic treatment in the world after death. The painted figurines were unearthed from the Astana Tombs in Turpan. They are all made of fired clay, with facial features painted with black pigment, and they are dressed in long robes, black boots, tall hats, and gorgeous clothes.
🧍🏼♂️🧍🏼♀️🧍🏼♂️🧍🏽♀️The discovery of the painted figurines allows modern people to intuitively understand the clothing and clay sculpture craftsmanship of the ancient Western Regions.
