I had never been to Lingshui before, and after this trip, I only have one thought: I must come back for a second visit.
The beach at Clear Water Bay is incredibly soft and fine, very comfortable to walk on barefoot. The sea is clear and blue, with a vast view. Most importantly, there are very few people, making it introvert-friendly.
This time, I stayed at the newly opened Indigo hotel. The room type was a pool-access twin room. You open the door and there's the pool, starting a "two swims a day" mode.
Overall, Clear Water Bay is not as developed as Haitang Bay, and the service level is slightly inferior. A drawback of the rooms is the lack of privacy; rooms facing the pool share a swimming lane, so people from other rooms might be swimming outside. Also, the soundproofing isn't great; you can hear people closing doors, talking, and knocking in the hallway quite clearly from the room.
The breakfast selection is very rich, and the details are well thought out; even the high chairs are Stokke.
Daily dining is not very convenient, but the Indigo is directly connected to the Kimpton, which has a Cantonese restaurant called Haiyu that is quite authentic.
