🏯 Nagano, Ueda Castle | A castle ruin with a history connected to the Sanada clan
Ueda Castle, the historical symbol of Ueda City, is a famous castle ruin built by Sanada Yukimura (Nobushige).
Even after the Battle of Sekigahara, the castle repelled the Tokugawa army with skillful defense, and its history is popular in dramas and movies.
Part of the castle has now been restored, and the turrets and stone walls still retain the appearance of the time.
During the cherry blossom season in spring and the autumn leaves in autumn, the castle ruins are crowded with many tourists, and you can also enjoy a leisurely stroll as a castle ruins park.
There are also museums and archives related to Sanadamaru nearby, where you can learn more about the history of the Sanada clan during the Sengoku period.
It is a recommended spot not only for history fans, but also as a park rich in nature.
