Uji is a popular tourist spot where you can experience the setting of "The Tale of Genji," which will be the subject of the NHK Taiga drama in 2024.
You can get to Uji in about 30 minutes by train from JR Kyoto Station. In 2003, a statue of Murasaki Shikibu, the author, was installed at "Yumeukibashi Square." It is one of the popular photo spots where you can take photos with Uji Bridge.
