The world's first #NintendoMuseum opened grandly in Uji City, Kyoto, Japan on October 2 this year. The museum currently adopts a "reservation system" and requires a lottery. I am very happy to have been selected to be one of the early visitors.
✨There are three buildings in the Nintendo Museum.
The first and second buildings are connected, while the third building is independent.
It is roughly divided into knowledge + experience area and workshop + restaurant.
Adult tickets are JPY 3300. Arrive at the museum a little early according to the ticket time to prepare for entry. Large luggage can be stored in lockers and will then need to go through security checks.
✨The knowledge area on the second floor displays many Nintendo products over the years.
Both the console and the game are presented one by one.
You can also learn about Nintendo's creative process.
But please note that photography is strictly prohibited in this area.
🎮Game experience area. There are single, double or multiplayer games.
Each game requires a specified amount of gold experience.
Each person will have 10 stored in the admission card.
You cannot purchase additional coins once they are used up, so it is recommended to plan ahead.
🕹️You will see the merchandise store when you exit the game area.
It mainly sells products designed with game consoles in mind.
Finally I bought a blind box and got a very cute Game Boy.
✨Don’t forget there are some hidden check-in spots.
Such as the balloon gifts from Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Pikachu’s tail, etc.
🍔Hatena Burger, everyone can dine here.
Of course, you have to eat the hamburger which can be freely combined.
Many of the fillings are local ingredients from Kyoto.
There are also check-in spots in the restaurant, so don’t miss it.
⚠️I entered at 14:00, and the time was barely enough without attending the workshop. First, walk around the store to see what you want to buy, and then visit the display area. After that, I chose some games that didn’t have too many people waiting in line, and finally went to buy goods and have a meal.
