Missed the cherry, got wisteria and azalea blossomimg at Byodo-in

Byodo-in Temple a short 10 minutes walk from JR Uji station. Originally we went to Uji for matcha, and Byodo-in was meant to be a side program. But our visit just happened during the wisteria blossoming. So beautiful full bloom purple/white flower, it was fantastic especially during golden hours. Just note to arrive well before the closing time. They will not let you in after 1700-1715. And the guards will chase you out promptly at 1730. Entrance fee for the garden and temple grounds 700 yen, the museum is included but for the Phoenix Hall there is another 300 yen admission fee.
