I thought the Kamo River was already beautiful, until I visited the Uji River...

When visiting Kyoto, you can spare half a day for Uji🍵
Morning in Uji and afternoon in Nara makes a perfect route!
🚃20 minutes from Kyoto to Uji by train
After exiting the station, head to the west bank of Uji River first
Must visit Nakamura Tokichi (Byodoin branch)
Enjoy the limited edition matcha parfait while admiring the stunning views of Uji River
After 10 AM it gets crowded and you'll need to wait for seats
Exit through the back door to reach the Uji River bank
Byodoin Temple admission is 700 yen
We skipped it as we preferred Kyoto's temples
The streets and alleys along the way are perfect for photos
Buy a matcha ice cream as a photo prop
If you have time, you can stroll around the east bank too
We chose to visit Tsujiri/Itohkyuemon
Buy some matcha souvenirs before heading to Nara
