🇯🇵 Ukiha Local Grilled Chicken Restaurant

While staying in Ukiha for two nights, I discovered Minoujip, a restaurant serving native chicken.

This new restaurant opened in October 2023, but already has a 5.0 rating on Google. 😲

🚗 Location & Atmosphere
About 2.5km from downtown Ukiha, it's a 5-minute rental car or 10-minute bike ride away.
The restaurant is housed in a renovated traditional Japanese house nestled among rice paddies and fields, with ample parking. The tables are comfortably spaced at about 6, providing a comfortable atmosphere. A complimentary blend of 15 ingredients and an oolong tea base is provided. 🫖

🍽 Menu & Prices

Charcoal-grilled Native Chicken Set (serves 2 or more): Includes rice, soup, and dessert. 1,800 yen per person (~15,000 won)

Additional vegetables: 500 yen

Additional chicken: 1,000 yen (per person)

Individuals: Grilled chicken skin and chicken gizzards each 800 yen (~7,000 won)

Alcohol: Beer 700 yen, non-alcoholic beer 500 yen, shochu, sake, highball, plum wine, wine, and more.

📌 We only use native chickens raised for at least 75 days and with a blood content of at least 50% Japanese native breeds – only 1% of Japan's production!

🔥 Taste Review
The chicken sizzles on the powerful grill, reminiscent of a lamb rib grill, and the sizzling sound will whet your appetite.

The grilled chicken is dipped in salt, yuzu kosho, and rich soy sauce, and paired with grilled vegetables for a fantastic combination. 🤤
Free refills on rice. 🍚 + Mixing it with the raw egg soy sauce creates a whole new flavor.

The chicken gizzard is a must-order! The chewy, savory texture is incredible.
