Explore the Intriguing Interiors of Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace, the renowned residence of the Queen in London, offers a glimpse into both its famous and lesser-known interiors. Each summer, the royal suites are opened to the public, though the secret rooms remain off-limits.

The Royal Secret Room, relatively small by palace standards, serves as a gathering place for royal family members before state events. The room features a large, ornately carved and gilded mirror on the door, and a heavy cabinet adorned with hard stone inlays crafted by Martin Carlin in Paris in 1780.

On top of the cabinet sits a wartime Christmas gift given to Queen Mary in 1943: a pair of candlesticks designed by Pierre Gouthière.
