Solo Travel | Cappadocia's hidden gems

📍Urgup

Cappadocia is famous for its hot air balloons, but the region is larger than you might imagine, and the city famous for hot air balloons is Göreme.

Next to it is the ancient city of Urgup, with its old cobblestone streets and traditional stone houses.

However, the standard plan is to stay in Göreme, get on a hot air balloon, and then return to Istanbul, so many people probably don't know much about other cities.

Urgup, which can be reached by bus from Göreme, has a local feel and offers a different side to Göreme.

I especially recommend Temenni Hill in the center.

It's on a hill, and the view of the city from here makes it seem like time has stopped. 😌

Göreme is so crowded with tourists that it can be a bit unsettling, but you can spend a relaxing time here.

The souvenir shops are lined up, and the staff are kind and friendly.
There are lots of cute cafes,
and the one I went to was a cafe with stone seats like a cave.
The Wi-Fi was good and I think I could work there a lot.

[Access]
About 20 minutes by minibus from Goreme.
Temenni Hill is about a 10-minute walk from the bus station in Urgup. It's a slope 🚶♀️
