A "bamboo lantern" workshop held at Wakatake no Mori

Bamboo lantern events are held in various locations.

I've always been interested in bamboo lanterns and wanted to make one myself.

This farm also offers a bamboo lantern workshop.

Choose one bamboo lantern from the following sizes: large (2000 yen), medium (1500 yen), and small (1000 yen).

Choose three of your favorite patterns and arrange them.

Secure the lanterns with masking tape, then apply TPP tape over them. Then, use an electric drill to drill small holes starting with the smallest to complete the pattern.

Finally, we turned on the lights to check the atmosphere. That's it.

A staff member from "Chikaken," a group that makes bamboo lanterns all over Japan, happened to be there and gave us detailed instructions.

It was so much fun, I almost wanted to take up the hobby.
