[St. Peter's Square, Vatican City]

#Fritaviwinter

The Vatican City in Rome is a Christian holy land where the Roman Catholic Church is located.

The only country whose entire country is registered as a World Heritage Site.

The Vatican is the collective name for the Vatican City and the headquarters of Catholicism.

St. Peter's Square is an oval square in front of St. Peter's Basilica.

It was designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini.

The colonnade surrounding the square is made of marble, and there are 284 Doric columns (colonnades) lined up in four rows.

On top of this colonnade, 140 statues of past popes and saints are displayed.

An obelisk stands in the center.
