✨ A Venetian Christmas to Remember – Gritti Palace, Venice 🎄

We spent last Christmas at the incredible Gritti Palace — and honestly, it was one of those “pinch me” moments from start to finish. This is the most romantic city on earth!!

Arriving by water taxi felt like stepping into a film set. The soft winter mist over the Grand Canal made it even more romantic — the kind of atmosphere you can’t plan for but never forget.

Everything about the hotel oozes charm. The festive touches were beautiful, and we were lucky enough to dine at the restaurant on Christmas Day — gorgeous food, candlelight, and that unmistakable buzz of Venice in winter.

Mornings were especially magical: sipping coffee at breakfast as gondolas drifted past in the fog. You just sit there thinking: this is what it’s all about. 🛶☁️

The Gritti itself is packed with history — a 15th-century noble residence, now a jewel in the Marriott Luxury Collection. Think original antiques, Murano glass, and rich interiors that tell stories of another era.

Definitely go for a canal view room — waking up to that view each day, misty or not, was unforgettable.

As Marriott Bonvoy Titanium members, we were looked after incredibly well — attentive service without being over the top.

Just a couple of things to note: no swimming pool or wet spa (city restrictions), and no irons in rooms (fire regs) — but honestly, none of that matters. If you’re after sleek modern luxury, this might not be your thing. But if you want timeless elegance and atmosphere? This place is magic.
