Admiring this beautiful wat

Wat Mixay is slightly smaller than other temples in the neighborhood, but it more than makes up for it with its ornate adornments and design. The temple's bright exterior makes it easy to find, and while inside, take time to admire the temple's many beautiful wall murals illustrating Buddha's teachings.

Perhaps the most rewarding element of Wat Mixay, like some of the city's other smaller temples, is the ambiance - its shady courtyard is a great location to escape the heat and get a glimpse of local life, or speak with one of the welcoming monks about the finer points of the Buddhist faith.
