Wat Sisaket, built in 1818, is the oldest temple in Vientiane.

Wat Sisaket is surrounded by a traditional Laotian wall, with a picture gallery encircling the inner wall, carved into thousands of niches housing Buddha images. There are 6,840 Buddha images made from terracotta, bronze, and wood.
