One-day tour of Vientiane city
Transportation: Rent a motorcycle

🛕 That Luang Stupa
【Ticket Price】: 30,000 kip (about 10 RMB)
【Visiting Time】: 20 minutes
Just take photos outside, you don’t have to go inside, and even if you do, it’s hard to understand.

🛕 Patuxai (Victory Gate)
【Entrance Fee to Climb】: 30,000 kip (about 10 RMB)
【Visiting Time】: 30 minutes
A landmark of Vientiane, located in the city center. Visiting is free, but climbing to the top costs 30,000 kip. From the top floor, you can enjoy the distant view. The scenery is better at dusk.

🛕 Wat Haw Pha Kaeo (Temple of the Emerald Buddha)
【Ticket Price】: 30,000 kip (about 10 RMB)
【Visiting Time】: 20 minutes
⚠️ No photos allowed inside the main hall
✅ Also known as the National Museum of Laos
The temple is small, only the main hall is open to visitors. The original Emerald Buddha, a national treasure, was taken during invasions and is now kept in Bangkok, Thailand.

🛕 Wat Sisaket
【Ticket Price】: 30,000 kip (about 10 RMB)
【Visiting Time】: 20 minutes
⚠️ Located opposite Wat Haw Pha Kaeo
The murals inside the main hall are exquisite and impressive. Around the hall, there are 6,840 small Buddha statues made of terracotta and wood. There is also an area with many small and large stupas, which serve as the burial grounds for ancestors of prominent local families. It is recommended not to take photos there 🙅

🛕 Black Stupa (That Dam)
【Ticket Price】: Free
【Visiting Time】: 3 minutes
Looks like a beggar’s stupa 🫣, quite abandoned and overgrown with grass. Just take a quick photo and move on.

🛕 Buddha Park (Xieng Khuan)
【Ticket Price】: 60,000 kip (about 20 RMB)
【Visiting Time】: 30 minutes
About 45 minutes from the city center by motorcycle. The park is not very large, but the Buddha statues and sculptures are quite interesting. The big open mouth at the entrance is great for photos, like a real-life temple escape game. Overall, it feels like you haven’t seen enough after a quick visit.
