Wat Si Muang or Wat Si Muang is a sacred temple of Laos. It is another interesting temple because it is the location of the city pillar of Vientiane. It was built in 2106 (around 1563) during the reign of King Saisettha Thirat and is considered one of the 5 Sri temples of Vientiane: Si Muang, Si Phun, Si Than, Si Buaban and Si Hom. In ancient times, it was associated with important royal ceremonies, such as the coronation ceremony, which required holy water from the 5 Sri temples to be used in the ceremony.
Inside Wat Si Muang, there is a sacred Buddha image enshrined. It is a place of worship for the people of Vientiane. It is believed that it is very sacred. Whoever comes to pray will have their wishes granted. In addition, inside the temple, there are walls and ceilings inside the temple, which are very beautiful architecture. Another interesting thing is the ordination hall, which is in Thai-Lao architecture.
You can go in to worship and pray every day.
