A classic tourist attraction in Vientiane: Wat Ho Phra Keo

A temple built in 1565 to house the Emerald Buddha.

The temple also has a museum and souvenir shop, and a huge vase brought from the Jamil Plain.

Compared to the temple in Si Saket, it is much larger. The famous emerald Buddha was enshrined here, but it was plundered during the war with Thailand during the Lan Xang period and is now in Bangkok, Thailand.

There are also relics from the French period.

Admission fee: 30,000 (foreigners)

Location: XJ66+MJC, Vientiane, Laos
