The Vuong Palace (Hmong King), also known as Dinh Thu Ho Vuong (Palace of the Vuong Clan), is located in the Sa Phin Valley, Lung Phin Commune, Dong Van District, Ha Giang Province, approximately 125 km from the city center.
The palace was built in the late 19th century and sits at the base of a valley surrounded by high ground. Due to this topography, the entire building is protected by a turtle-shell-shaped mountain arch, providing excellent protection during fierce wars. The materials used are a blend of Yunnan (China) and local materials, such as limestone, wood, iron, and yin-yang tiles. The palace was built by the most talented craftsmen from Yunnan and Dong Van. The palace's interior is truly unique, a perfect blend of three different cultures: Hmong, French, and Chinese. For this reason, the palace was designated a national relic by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in 1993. The palace was entirely built by hand, without the use of mechanical equipment. The entrance fee to visit here is 40,000 VND per person.
