#TravelGuide #01 Departure for the South Coast
Departing from Reykjavik and heading southeast,
endless grasslands and glacial borders unfold outside the car window.
This is where you'll discover Iceland's true face.
The road may be monotonous, but the scenery changes with each photo.
The journey begins, where you'll encounter four faces of nature in one day.
⸻
#02 Skógafoss
The spray of water falling from a height of 90 meters
When it meets the sunlight, it creates a seven-colored rainbow.
Icelandic legend
tells that Vikings hid treasure behind this waterfall.
Climbing the stairs next to the waterfall
leads to the endless upper reaches of the Skóga River,
making you feel as if you're standing above the clouds.
"A moment when your heart is moved not by the sound, but by the power of the water."
⸻
#03 Vík í Mýrdal
The black sand beach of Reynisfjara.
Crashing waves, basalt cliffs,
and the jagged rock pillars of Reynisdrangar towering in the distance.
This isn't just a beach,
it's a divine sculpture, created by the meeting of fire and ice.
The white church of Víkurkirkja on the hill above the village
is the most striking viewpoint.
The contrast between the black coast and the church under the crimson sunset sky is ❤️beautiful.
"Standing over the black sea, I see a moment when the world seems to stop."
#04 Eldhraun
Endless fields of green moss.
This isn't just any ordinary meadow.
It's a landscape formed over hundreds of years,
on the lava fields left by the eruption of Mount Laki in 1783. The soft, cushiony feel of moss pressing down on you with every step.
It makes you feel like the Earth is still alive.
"This is like a place where the green breath of the moon has settled."
#05 Course Tips & Route Suggestions
🚗 Route: Reykjavik → Skógafoss → Vik → Eldgroen
🕓 Duration: Approximately 8-10 hours for a day trip (round trip)
📸 Recommended Time: Waterfall in the morning, beach in the afternoon, Eldgroen at sunset
☕️ Intermission: Recommended Skool Beans Café in Vik Village (with a container cafe feel)
#One Line I'd Like to Write Down
At the southern tip of Iceland,
the memory of fire and the breath of ice flow together ☺️
