The 3-day journey in New Zealand was brief but packed with the essence of the South Island. On the first day, arriving in Queenstown, the stunning scenery of Lake Wakatipu and the Southern Alps was truly mesmerizing. Strolling along the lakeside, breathing in the fresh air, and riding the Skyline Gondola to the observation deck to overlook the city and lake were unforgettable moments. The luge experience added a touch of adventure, and the day ended perfectly with a lamb steak and rosé wine at a lakeside restaurant.
On the second day, we headed to Mount Cook. The emerald waves of Lake Pukaki and the snowy mountains created breathtaking views throughout the drive. Walking the Hooker Valley Track, crossing suspension bridges, and witnessing the glacier-carved valleys and lakes up close were the highlights of the New Zealand trip. Sipping coffee at Mount Cook Village while gazing at the snowy peaks through the window was a special moment of relaxation.
The final day was spent in Tekapo. The Church of the Good Shepherd, set against the backdrop of the lake and snowy mountains, was serene and tranquil. If it had been lupin season, the lakeside would have been adorned with blooming flowers, adding vibrancy to the scenery. At night, the sky, filled with countless stars in one of the world's top three starlight reserves, provided a magical end to the journey.
Though short, the trip was a perfect blend of nature, relaxation, and adventure.
