Poland's [Palace of Science and Culture] is located on the west side of Warsaw's Parade Square. It was built from 1952 to 1955 by Soviet laborers as a gift from Stalin to the Polish nation. The Palace of Science and Culture Pałac Kultury i Nauki is usually abbreviated as PKiN, and many Warsaw citizens also jokingly call it Stalin's syringe and Russian wedding cake. It is 234 meters (767 feet) high and has 3,288 rooms, 3 theaters, 1 swimming pool, 1 museum and a conference hall that can accommodate 3,000 people. This cultural palace was completed in just three years and is built in the Stalinist style. It is now used to hold various types of fairs, exhibitions, art performances and music events.
On the left is the theater and on the right is the concert hall, which has a gorgeous Soviet-style interior and a bar. Admission is free, but you can buy a ticket to the top floor to overlook the city.
