Traveling to the East Coast of the United States: White House & Washington Monument in Washington, D.C.

If you're visiting Washington, D.C. during your East Coast trip, the White House is a must-see! In fact, I traveled all the way from New York to Washington, D.C. just to see the White House.

You can view the White House from both Lafayette Square and Ellipse Park, but the view from Lafayette Square is better.

Although I didn't apply for a White House tour in advance, you can try applying ahead of time. If you're lucky enough to be selected, you might get the chance to tour the interior of the White House!
