Weihai

A day trip to Weihai by train from Yantai allowed me to enjoy both the city's sophisticated sensibility and the coastal scenery. I arrived early and started my journey at my first destination, Huageu Bajiao (火炬八街). The neatly maintained streets were lined with cafes, select shops, and trendy boutiques. The youthful atmosphere of the shops and murals showcased Weihai's trendy side.

Next, I headed to Weihai International Bathing Beach (威海国际海水浴场), a resort area within the city, with its long stretch of white sand and azure sea. The fine sand and gentle coastline made for a pleasant stroll, and the promenade along the sea provided a relaxing atmosphere.

In the afternoon, I visited Weihai's iconic Happiness Gate (幸福门). The panoramic views of the city, harbor, and sea from the observation deck were breathtaking, offering a breathtaking view of Weihai's iconic skyline. The final destination of our trip was the newly built Jihai Harbor (至海港湾), a coastal cultural complex. The ocean views from the mall's interior and rooftop garden were impressive, and the view of the Jihai Harbor and the sea, in particular, epitomized Weihai's modern charm.

The distance between attractions meant we had limited time, but we were able to experience Weihai's diverse landscape, a harmonious blend of beach, city, culture, and shopping, all in one day.
