Foguang Temple in Tongguling Scenic Area, Wenchang, Hainan

🏯It was the first time I saw such a temple. There was no main hall, plaque, morning bell or evening drum. There was only a square incense hall, a flight of mountain steps, and a statue of Sakyamuni Buddha sitting on a lotus throne.

The Buddha statue is backed by green mountains and faces the sea. It bathes in the morning light and gazes at the setting sun every day. It has a solemn and quiet beauty that is quite shocking.

It is said that Foguang Temple is the "loneliest temple" and its magnetic field is also magical. You will feel quiet and sacred when you are in front of the temple. Burning incense, worshipping Buddha and looking at the sea is very healing~

⚠️Warm Tips:

[1] The Buddha statue is facing east, and the first ray of sunlight at sunrise shines on the statue. Can you imagine how beautiful it is? But I encountered heavy fog when I got up early, and the light was too bad so I could only take pictures like this. If the weather was good it would definitely be beautiful! !

[2] If you don’t want to get up early, go there in the late afternoon. The sunset will fall behind the Buddha statue, and you might be able to take a picture of the "Buddha's light".

[3] The beach in front of the temple is very small, but the waves are very big. Standing on the reef, you will feel like "looking at the vast ocean from the east of Jieshi". You cannot go into the water.

[Four] The temple and parking lot are very close to Tongguling Scenic Area and Stone Park. You can go there to play together.

[Five] I usually don’t take pictures of Buddha statues inside temples, but this time I was really conflicted and finally decided to take some. I would like to share in the merits, but I only accept cash.

[Seven] Coral Temple Island was the filming location for "Ghost Blows Out the Light: Return to the South China Sea", but the fishing village is fake and the temple is real.
