Day 1:
Check-in to Lavande Hotel Zhongshan Road
Arrived Wuhan via high speed train from Jingzhou on 8 Mar 2025. We stayed at Lavande Hotel Zhongshan Road, Jianghan District booked through trip.com. We chose this hotel as it is next to Liuduqiao metro station which makes travelling around so convenient.
Zhongshan Road is a shopping street and you can do some shopping here. There are lots of retail shops and eateries here. You can walk from here to Jianghan Road which is a large street food area. We enjoyed walking around here.
Day 2:
Yellow Crane Tower
We took the metro to Simenkou and Yellow Crane Tower station to visit this famous attraction. From this station, you still need to walk about 400metres. You can take the mini private car ride for 10 yuan.
The tower is worth visiting but you need strong legs to climb up the 5 storey high stairs . They do provide lift to the highest floor if you don’t mind skipping the floors. It’s crowded but we just climb at our own pace. The panaromic view at the top is beautiful. Nearby the tower, we saw some beautiful cherry blossoms too.
Price: 80 Yuan
Wuhan University and East Lake
From Guangbutun metro station, we took a motorbike ride to the university. We managed to enter the university and walked around for a bit. Nearby the university is East Lake (Donghu). It’s very huge and it’s advisable to cycle around the lake.
Jianghan Road
A vibrant famous pedestrian street where you can find lots of street food, snacks and shopping. We walked to the end of the road to the pier for a beautiful view of the river. We like this walk as there are many historical buildings and lots to see.
Day 3:
Optics Valley Suspended Monorail
We took the metro to Guanggu 4th Road station as we wanted to see the suspended monorail. If you have time, you should take a ride on it. We took lots of photos when the world’s first suspended monorail came close.
Dream Plaza
The world’s largest shopping mall is located opposite the Baotong Temple. It is connected to Baotong Temple metro station Line 2. We didn’t walked the entire mall but we enjoyed taking photos and exploring this modern shopping mall. There are rows of plum blossoms outside the mall which are so pretty.
Overall we enjoyed our short trip to Wuhan and wished we had more time to spend here.
