Huishan Ancient Town, Wuxi

Although it's right next to Wuxi, I'd never been to Huishan Ancient Town. Thanks to its appearance on CCTV's Spring Festival Gala and the cherry blossom season, Wuxi suddenly became super popular.

Take Subway Line 3 from Wuxi Railway Station and transfer to Line 4. It's a direct trip, just four stops.

Huishan Ancient Town covers a large area, including many ancestral halls, Xihui Park, and Jichang Garden. Most of the ancestral halls are located on the main street, which is free to enter, so you can visit the halls directly. There's a combined ticket for Jichang Garden and Xihui Park, priced at 70 yuan. Entry is free for visitors aged 70 and above, and half-price for those aged 60–70.

Since Huishan Ancient Town gained popularity, it's been packed with people, even on working days.

On the ancient street, the chicken soup with silver noodles is quite good. The bone-in meat is especially delicious and worth trying. There's usually a line, but it doesn't take too long.

You can store your luggage for free at the subway's staffed service exit. There are also paid storage lockers at various entrances to the scenic area, which is very convenient.
