🌿 A royal garden in the misty rain of Jiangnan! Jichang Garden in Wuxi is stunningly beautiful on rainy days!
Emperor Qianlong made it a must-visit on his six trips to Jiangnan! Nestled between Xihui Twin Hills, Jichang Garden features real mountains, flowing water, and exquisite landscaping. When the mist rises on rainy days, it looks like an ink painting! Every snapshot feels like a scene from Dream of the Red Chamber~
📍Address: No. 2 Huihe Road, Liangxi District, Wuxi (inside Xihui Park)
⏰Opening Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (last entry at 4:30 PM)
Rainy Day Route:
1️⃣ Jiushitai → Beauty Stone
Raindrops on the Taihu stones shimmer with a jade-like glow! The Jiushitai rockery group is a textbook example of Jiangnan garden rock stacking.
2️⃣ Jinhuiyi → Hebutan
The same scenic spot favored by Emperor Qianlong! The lake reflects century-old maple and poplar trees in the rain and mist. Bring a transparent umbrella for amazing photos.
3️⃣ Yupan Corridor → Zhiyujian
The corridor pillars change through seven colors with the light, and the century-old fragrant osmanthus blooms subtly around the corner on rainy days.
📸 Perfect Photo Spots:
① Stone bridge at the exit of Bayinjian (overlooking the full view of Jinhuiyi)
② Hexagonal window at the end of Yupan Corridor (framing Xishan Longguang Pagoda)
☔️ Tips to Avoid Trouble:
- The bluestone paths inside the garden are very slippery when wet! Wear non-slip shoes.
- Bring mosquito repellent! Midges are so numerous in the rainy season they can almost lift you.
- On sunny days, you can buy a combo ticket to also visit the Second Spring under Heaven.
