Wuxi Charm - Nanchang Street

Nanchang Street is located in the central area of Liangxi District, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, along the ancient Grand Canal. It is an important part of the Qingming Bridge Historical and Cultural Block. Stretching 5.5 kilometers from Kuatang Bridge in the north to Nanshuixian Temple in the south, this street was a post road during the Northern Song Dynasty and became a key hub for grain transportation and goods distribution in Jiangnan during the mid-Ming Dynasty. It is also the birthplace of Wuxi's national industry and commerce. The area preserves numerous historical landmarks such as Qingming Bridge, Dagong Bridge, and the China Silk Industry Museum, showcasing the rich heritage of Wu culture and the development history of the Grand Canal.

💴【Ticket Prices】: The core area of Nanchang Street is free to visit. Tickets for the China Silk Industry Museum are 20 RMB, and tickets for the Kiln Site Museum are 10 RMB. Prices have not changed recently.

• Historical and Cultural Sites: Visit Qingming Bridge, Dagong Bridge, the China Silk Industry Museum, and Nanshuixian Temple to learn about Wuxi's canal culture, the history of the silk industry, and the resistance against Japanese pirates.

• Unique Districts: The N1955 area features many creative shops and art studios. Nanjiaotang is quieter, with numerous specialty tea houses and cafes, as well as the popular graffiti bridge tunnel.

• Leisure Experiences: Enjoy Pingtan performances at Shumatou or take a boat ride along the ancient Grand Canal. Night cruises offer even better views, with tickets priced at around 100 RMB per person.

Exit from Exit 8 and walk for 10 minutes to reach Nanchang Street. Alternatively, take bus routes 15, 24, 27, or 57 to the Nanchang Street (Kuatang Bridge) stop.
