Weekend Escape from Beijing｜Wuyi Mountain 2 Days 2 Nights Lazy Itinerary Guide​

Wuyi Mountain’s waters, rock valleys, and floral scents are highly recommended by National Geographic! A world dual heritage site, perfect for a spontaneous weekend trip from Beijing～Depart Friday afternoon (take a half-day off), return Sunday night, wash away fatigue with the aroma of tea, and enjoy two days of heavenly bliss!✨

There are many guides, but the itineraries are exhausting... The southern area’s attractions are concentrated but require walking over 30,000 steps, the northern area has the must-visit Da Hong Pao mother trees, what to do? Plus, Wuyi Mountain has rain over 200 days a year, what if you encounter rain and it feels like a wasted trip? Don’t worry! This time we tested rainy day activities, which actually add more charm!

​DAY 1⃣️: Baiyun Zen Temple Sea of Clouds/Sunrise — Nine-bend Creek Bamboo Raft — Song Street/Wuyi Palace — Rock Valley Floral Scent Light Hike — Impression Da Hong Pao​

🌅 Depart at 5:00 AM to Baiyun Zen Temple to see the sea of clouds, have a vegetarian meal, and descend before 9 AM to catch the bamboo raft. The drifting lasts about 90 minutes, arrive at Song Street for lunch at noon. In the afternoon, walk the Rock Valley Floral Scent trail (only a few hundred meters from the North Gate), quiet and serene, perfect for lazy travelers!

💡 Bamboo rafts require grouping (usually 8 people, 7 when water levels are low). Once the group is full, get your ticket and rush to be first to choose the best spot at the front of the boat!

(If time allows, you can take a car to Water Curtain Cave, but it’s best in the rainy season; skip it on sunny days)

​DAY 2⃣️: Tianyou Peak — One Line Sky — Have tea at Buzhi Chun Zhai — Return trip​

⛰️ Climbing is tiring, so do it in the morning! In the afternoon, find a tea house to relax; we recommend Buzhi Chun Zhai, perfect for reading and taking photos～

🚖 You can take taxis between attractions, don’t force yourself to climb all the mountains in one day! Those with good stamina can do the southern area on DAY 1 and the northern area on DAY 2, but splitting it is more relaxing～

🌧️ Light rain is recommended to continue as planned; the misty rain adds more atmosphere! For heavy rain, switch to tea-making or Jian Zhan pottery experiences; Shijia Mingyuan Tea Estate is tested and fun!
