A 3-Day Wuyuan Trip: See You Next March

Wuyuan County, located at the junction of Anhui, Zhejiang, and Jiangxi provinces, gets its name from Qinghua, the former county seat, which means "close to the source of the Wushui River." More than 4,000 years ago, ancient Yue people thrived here. In the late Eastern Han Dynasty, Wuyuan belonged to Xiuyang County. In the 28th year of Kaiyuan in the Tang Dynasty (740 AD), Wuyuan County was established. It historically belonged to Huizhou Prefecture. During the Republic of China, the prefecture (Huizhou) was abolished, leaving the county under the jurisdiction of Anhui Province. On May 1, 1949, Wuyuan was liberated and placed under the jurisdiction of Jiangxi Province.

๐Ÿ‘ Recommendations:
โœ… Wuyuan is one of the birthplaces of Huizhou culture and is known as the "land of books" and "land of tea." It currently has eight Chinese historical and cultural villages and over 4,100 ancient Hui-style buildings. It also boasts Huiju opera, Nuo dance, Hui-style "three carvings," She inkstones, and Wuyuan green tea, all of which are national intangible cultural heritages, demonstrating its rich cultural heritage.

โœ… Wuyuan is a great place to visit year-round. See the rapeseed flowers in spring, enjoy the autumn scenery in fall, and take the kids on a family trip during the summer or winter vacations.

๐Ÿ“Œ Recommended 3-Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Sixiyan Village - Rainbow Bridge - Yantian

Day 2: Moon Bay - Likeng - Wangkou - Jiangling - Shangtan Village

Day 3: Huangling - Jiangwan - Xia Xiaoqi

๐Ÿ˜๏ธ Accommodation Recommendations:
1๏ธโƒฃ Wuyuan Yuehuitang, near Wuyuan County, is a hotel designed in the Hui architectural style.

2๏ธโƒฃ Mingxun Bieyuan - Yunshuiyao, located in Shangtan Village, is a guesthouse converted from ancient Hui-style buildings.

๐Ÿœ Dining Recommendations:
Both Anhui and Jiangxi cuisine are salty and spicy. If you prefer lighter food, you can dine at the restaurants in these two hotels/guesthouses, which offer relatively light, delicious, and healthy dishes. The breakfast is also good.

๐Ÿš— Transportation Recommendations:
Chartering a car is recommended, with a daily cost of no more than CNY 400. It is convenient and saves time, allowing you to see more attractions.

๐ŸŒผ Other Tips:
โœ… The best time to see the rapeseed flowers in spring is at the end of March. After the Qingming Festival, there aren't many left. This year, we traveled during the off-season and arrived on April 8. We were still able to see large rapeseed fields in bloom at the entrance of Yan Village, Jiangling, and Huangling. The local driver said we were lucky because the temperature in March this year was colder than usual.

โœ… Be sure to visit Huangling early in the morning or after 3pm to avoid the crowds and long queues for the cable car.
