Discovered in 1974 near Xi’an, the Terracotta Army is one of the greatest archaeological finds of the 20th century. Buried for over 2,000 years, these life-sized warriors, horses, and chariots were created to protect China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang, in the afterlife. Today, this UNESCO World Heritage Site stands as a mesmerizing testament to ancient craftsmanship and imperial ambition.

Best Time to Visit: Spring and autumn for pleasant weather and smaller crowds. Mornings are best for avoiding tour groups.
