The National Peony Garden, also known as the China Luoyang National Peony Gene Bank, is located west of Zhonggou in Mangshan, Luoyang City. It covers an area of ​​700 mu (approximately 1.7 acres), including the South and North Peony Gardens, each covering 500 mu. The nursery area encompasses 200 mu. The garden houses over 600 domestic peony cultivars, six wild species, 72 new varieties, totaling over 500,000 plants, and over 100 imported foreign peony varieties, totaling 50,000 plants. Annually, it propagates 300,000 high-quality commercial peonies, featuring a wide variety of large, vibrant flowers in nine color schemes. Currently, the garden has become China's largest production base for the introduction and domestication of wild peonies, the cultivation of new varieties, and the propagation of commercial peonies.
