Huandao Road 🚲

We found ourselves on Huandao Road just as the sea breeze picked up, warm and steady, carrying the scent of salt and sunlight 🌊🚴♀️🌞. The road stretched along Xiamen’s coastline like a ribbon of movement cyclists gliding past, runners pacing themselves, and couples strolling slowly with the waves as their constant companion. The shoreline shifted between soft beaches, rocky edges, and scattered sculptures that seemed to watch over the sea.

At certain bends, Gulangyu appeared across the water, its silhouette resting quietly under the sky 🏝️🌥️🚶♂️. Cafes and rest stops dotted the way, offering shade and coconut water, while the sound of the waves mingled with distant laughter and the rhythmic whir of bicycle wheels. Huandao Road didn’t rush it flowed, a coastal path that felt less like a road and more like the city’s long, easy conversation with the sea 🌴☁️📜.
