Embark on a unique journey to Chengdu and explore the "Four Sisters Mountain" with a 1-day tour package priced at 1,990 THB (prices may vary depending on the season). I went on July 26th.
The process starts with booking the tour by selecting the date and time of your trip. I made my reservation in June. A Thai staff member was available on LINE to answer any questions. For the first booking, you pay 1,000 THB upfront and settle the remaining amount on the day of travel when boarding the bus.
Before the travel date, the driver will contact you via WeChat. The driver, who will pick you up at your hotel, communicates in Chinese, but WeChat can translate it into Thai. You can also reply in Thai. Around 10 PM, the tour guide will add you on WeChat to confirm if the driver has contacted you and provide details about the bus number and departure time.
The driver picked us up at 4:30 AM and took us to the bus boarding point by 5:30 AM. Along the way, the driver picked up 3-4 more passengers. By 5:45 AM, the bus arrived, and we could board and choose our seats freely. The bus departed promptly at 6:00 AM. The guide, speaking in Chinese, explained how to use oxygen, the altitude conditions, and basic first aid tips for issues like shortness of breath. After about 2 hours, the bus stopped for a restroom break. Even if you don’t feel the need, it’s advisable to use the restroom as there won’t be any facilities during the long uphill drive, which includes many sharp turns. If you’re prone to motion sickness, take medication and prepare a vomit bag 🤣.
Around 10:30 AM, we arrived at the entrance. Head to Ticket Counter 1 (not entirely sure) and present your passport to receive your ticket, as it’s already been purchased. (By the way, the guide will ask you to transfer an additional 70 yuan for the Four Sisters Mountain entrance fee via WeChat. If WeChat Pay doesn’t work, you can use Alipay and inform the guide via WeChat.)
You’ll have time to explore from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Be sure to return on time as the bus departs at 3:00 PM. The park’s shuttle bus will take you to the highest point, and you can then take the bus to various stops. Avoid getting off at Siguna Station, as no buses stop there to pick you up. You’d need to take a raft down the river (not sure about the cost) or walk about 4 km to the next station. We returned to Chengdu around 7:00 PM, and the bus dropped us off at the subway station. This tour is highly recommended for those with limited travel time.
One last thing: the weather at the top is very cold. While Chengdu’s temperature was 31°C, it dropped to around 13-16°C at the mountain. Be sure to bring a warm jacket.
