Here, the image of fishing boats singing at dusk comes to life (Xiapu East Line Travel Guide)

This time in Xiapu, I finally understood that "fishing boats singing at dusk" is no longer just an idiom, but a scenery you can actually see and touch!

For this 🚗 self-driving trip, we chose to explore the Xiapu East Line. The main sights on the East Line are Xiaohao Beach, Dongbi Village, and Sansha Town.

📸 First, let's talk about photo spots
✅ Dongbi Village internet-famous alley: Locate "Shijianhai" restaurant. Next to it is a small path leading down, with popular guesthouses on both sides. From this vantage point, shooting the sea and fishing boats from above feels very atmospheric. It’s quite crowded though; probably early morning visits can capture beautiful scenes with fewer people.
✅ Sunset viewing platform: After leaving Shijianhai, walk right and you’ll see a large slope. Walk down about 200 meters to find a viewing platform next to a small lighthouse. This spot is great for shooting sunsets 🌅 and sea views with a wide open perspective. Turning around, you can also capture the entire mid-mountain Dongbi Village.
✅ Gangwei Bridge: The best spot on the East Line for sunset shots. It’s hard not to suspect that the fishing boats 🛶 are arranged just for this viewpoint. The sunset glow and fishing boats perfectly frame each other here with an excellent angle. Many photography groups stake out this spot, so check the sunset time and arrive at least ten minutes early to set up your position.

🏡 Accommodation
For this stay, I chose the Huazhu Luxlanqi Guesthouse at Xiaohao Beach, which is very close to the sea. When the tide goes out, you can directly go to the beach to catch sea creatures. The guesthouse even provides tools 🪏, making it especially good for families with kids.
The guesthouse rooftop has a large viewing platform with a sea view. Sitting there, enjoying the sea breeze and sipping tea 🍵 is very relaxing.
This place is much quieter than Dongbi Village and Sansha Town, and only a few minutes’ drive from Dongbi Village. The coastal road along the way is especially beautiful. Whenever you see a viewing platform, stop to take photos—you definitely won’t be disappointed.

🥘 Food
Both Dongbi Village and Sansha Town have many restaurants, mainly serving seafood 🦐, though prices are not cheap. If possible, you can buy fresh seafood at the market and have it cooked. We were short on time, so we chose a local fast food called "Herbal Soup," which is affordable, delicious, and features local Fujian specialties.

Although it’s already September, Xiapu still has quite a few tourists, and the scenery is truly beautiful. If you prefer quiet, you can choose to stay in Xiaohao Village like me. It’s very comfortable and perfect for a relaxing holiday.
