Xichang Jacaranda: Beautiful Blue Flowers!

Best Time to Visit

- Jacaranda trees usually start to bloom in early April. The best time to visit is from mid-April to the May Day holiday. The flowers bloom for about a month.

Transportation

- Getting to Xichang: Fly to Xichang Qingshan Airport, then take the airport shuttle bus or a taxi to the city center. You can also take a train or high-speed train to Xichang Railway Station or Xichang High-speed Railway Station, which are connected to many lines. You can also drive from Chengdu to Xichang along the G5 Beijing-Kunming Expressway.

- Getting around Xichang: You can get a Xichang bus card on Alipay and take the bus. You can also take a taxi, ride a bike, or drive. Bus 106 is a tourist line that goes around Qionghai Lake and stops at many attractions.

Where to See Jacaranda

- Hangtian North Road: The jacaranda trees here are old and have dense flowers. It is a popular photo spot. From a distance, it looks like a blue ocean. You can navigate to Tengyunlou Hotel and take photos on the bridge or by the flower bed with the jacaranda trees in the background. 

- Jianchang Road: The ancient Jianchang Archway and the jacaranda trees complement each other, making for unique photos. 

- Wenhui Road: The road is narrow, but the jacaranda trees on both sides are dense, forming a "purple tunnel" that is perfect for walking and taking photos. 

- Chuangye Chuangxin Road: This is a less popular route. The blue and purple flowers hang from the branches, like a dream road. 

Where to Stay

- Hotels in the city center: There are many hotels near Qionghai 17 Degrees. There is a Wanda Plaza across the street, and there are many restaurants nearby. It is also convenient to visit attractions in the city center.

- Unique homestays: You can stay at a homestay near Jianchang Ancient City to experience the ancient city atmosphere and see the jacaranda trees.

What to Eat

- Xichang BBQ: Mainly meat, with large pieces and strong flavors. Great for gatherings with friends.

- Qionghai Drunken Shrimp: Fresh shrimp are specially prepared to have a wine aroma and tender meat.

- Xichang Rice Noodles: Spicy, rich, smooth, and refreshing. A popular breakfast choice for locals.

Tips

- The UV rays in Xichang are strong, so bring sunscreen, an umbrella, and other sun protection.

- Follow traffic rules when taking photos. Do not disrupt traffic and pay attention to your safety.
