Henan's most low-key ancient town spans across three provinces

In Henan, there is such an ancient town that spans across three provinces, has been the location for many films, and sees few tourists! Despite the fact that this street spans across three provinces, it remains little known. Therefore, some also call it Henan's most low-key ancient town. Curious friends might ask, where exactly is this low-key ancient town in Henan? What unique scenery does it offer? With these questions and curiosity, let's talk today about the stories of Jingziguan ancient town. Jingziguan ancient town is located on the right bank of the Dan River in Xichuan County, Nanyang City, Henan Province. Because it is situated at the junction of Henan, Hubei, and Shaanxi provinces, the town has the titles of 'One Step Across Three Provinces' and 'Jingziguan, where the rooster crows across three provinces'. Jingziguan town has a history of more than 2,000 years, was established during the Tang Dynasty, and flourished during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, making it a famous historical and cultural town in China. The main Ming and Qing architectural relics that still exist in the ancient town include: Jingziguan ancient street, the town gate, Shanxi-Shaanxi Guild Hall, Yuwang Palace, Pinglang Palace, Wanshou Palace, and the 'One Step Across Three Provinces' stele pavilion. At the southern end of the ancient town is an 'old town gate', which is a brick and stone structure. In the middle is an archway, and the architrave of the bucket arch is inscribed with the three characters 'Jingziguan'. Entering the gate leads to the South Street of the ancient town. South Street is one of the longer streets in the ancient town, running north to south, approximately 2.5 kilometers long, with a surface paved with bluestone. On both sides are several hundred old-fashioned 'wooden plank door' shops, with doors made of wooden planks, and the shops' side rooms are symmetrical, separated by a two-meter-long fireproof gable wall.
