Last summer, I took my kid to Xingyi, Guizhou, and they were completely captivated! They keep asking to go back! Without exaggeration, this was the most exciting trip among all the travels I've had with my child.
As soon as we arrived, it felt like stepping into a fairy tale. We stayed in a dreamy mushroom-shaped hotel. At night, lying on the terrace, we gazed at the vast starry sky while enjoying the gentle evening breeze and melodious cricket sounds - pure bliss. The daytime activities exceeded our expectations: riding the paddy field train, slowly swaying through waves of rice fields; rolling up our sleeves and pant legs to catch fish and play in the mud with kids in the rice paddies. We could even grill the fish we caught - so fresh it was incredible! Riding ponies brought the joy of galloping; parent-child competitions of picking dragon fruit, followed by making rice cakes and tie-dye together. The kids had a blast while experiencing local customs immersively. Away from the urban bustle, the children truly embraced nature and found the purest joy.
🎈Itinerary:
Day 1: Visit Jiaxiu Tower at night to feel its historical charm, then head to Qingyun Market to enjoy local specialties like sour soup beef hot pot, Dan's crispy duck, and grilled pancakes - your taste buds will be conquered!
Day 2: Primitive Cave Exploration/Flat Belt Descent
In the 18°C constant temperature cave, massive stalactites take various shapes, including some that glow. Looking closer, we discovered it was water droplets creating the effect - nature's craftsmanship is amazing! Experience flat belt descent, the weightless feeling during the drop thrilled both adults and children.
Day 3: Wanfeng Forest → Paddy Field Train/Dragon Fruit Picking
Ride the kid-friendly paddy field train through the scenic countryside, where every frame is a stunning landscape painting. After the train ride, start the fish-catching battle - the caught fish can be cooked on the spot, absolutely delicious! When tired, compete with kids to pick dragon fruit, then sit by the rice fields, leisurely enjoying afternoon tea while watching the sunset.
Day 4: Yubulu → Visit the Tiankeng → Check in to Mushroom Hotel
Enter the quiet, ancient Yubulu village with its stone-paved paths and birdsong, where time seems to slow down. Make colorful sticky rice and rice cakes with kids, pounding the rice into soft, sweet balls - pure happiness melting in your mouth. At night, check in to the popular mushroom hotel, opening the door feels like entering a fairy tale kingdom.
Day 5: Mushroom Hotel → Guizhou Chun Scenic Area
The hotel is like a fantasy castle with colorful flower fields, infinity pool, and a huge children's play area. Perfect for photos, and there's a lawn concert at night where families gather to enjoy music and precious moments together.
Day 6: Huangguoshu Waterfall → Return Journey
The three waterfalls in Huangguoshu Scenic Area each have their unique charm. Recommended visiting order: Main Waterfall → Tianxing Bridge → Doupo Pond. Buy round-trip elevator tickets for the Main Waterfall to save energy. The Water Curtain Cave path is narrow and slippery, remember to wear non-slip shoes.
