Dear family, visiting the Qinghai Tibetan Culture Museum, I was truly speechless, amazed by their museum treasure!
It is the 618-meter-long "Grand Panorama of Chinese Tibetan Cultural Art Paintings" thangka, known as the "Encyclopedia of Tibetan Culture." On the 1,500 square meter canvas, there are over 700 thangkas and more than 3,000 appliqué embroidery patterns as decoration, painted with precious mineral and plant pigments. There are over 180,000 vivid figures, each stroke embodying the history, religion, and art of the Tibetan people, with details so intricate they give you goosebumps!
Besides this thangka, the museum also houses gilded silver ornaments from the Tubo period. The Tubo people's styles are very unique and extremely valuable for studying clothing and gold and silver craftsmanship. The red ground Tuankuo bird-patterned brocade robe is also eye-catching, with striking Tang dynasty brocade foreign patterns. Although it has mending marks, its "halo" remains. The gold headpiece inlaid with turquoise and shaped like a standing phoenix combines gold and turquoise with exquisite craftsmanship and beautiful symbolism. You can imagine how magnificent the complete golden crown must be!
