A hidden escape village in the clouds is free! Really afraid it will become popular

We discovered a "secluded" ancient village in Huangshan, Anhui — the 400-year-old Muli Cave, hidden on a mountain ridge nearly 1,000 meters above sea level, known as the "village in the clouds." More than half the year you can see the sea of clouds, open the window to see the clouds rolling☁️, look up to see the Milky Way pouring down, old Huizhou-style houses built suspended in the air, full of local life vibes~ The best part is it’s free🆓👍

🚗Transportation Guide
For self-driving, just search for "Muli Cave Parking Lot," park your car and hike about 30 minutes to the top (over 800 steps, even kids can climb). The climb is a bit tiring. The parking area is a dirt road, the mountain road is narrow, and there are many cars during peak season, so it’s recommended to arrive early to avoid parking too far away.

📸Must-visit photo spots
1️⃣ Scenic platform behind the village: the best spot for sunset & sea of clouds shots, photos look like "walking in the clouds."
2️⃣ Front mountain viewing platform: right opposite Muli Cave, this is the best angle to overlook the entire village, the camel-shaped village is super impressive.
3️⃣ Ancient village alleys: walk on the bluestone paths, see the terraces full of hanging ham and bamboo shoots, capturing the authentic Huizhou lifestyle.
4️⃣ Starry night talk: very little light pollution here! At night, you can capture the brilliant Milky Way with your phone right under the eaves, the moon🌝 is also especially beautiful, though we couldn’t quite capture that feeling.

💡Travel Tips
✅Timing is key: check the sunrise time in advance. We asked the homestay owner for the time and route, got up an hour early to watch the sunrise and sea of clouds.
✅Clothing advice: lots of walking in the village, recommend wearing non-slip sports shoes for easy climbing up and down the mountain.
✅During peak season, definitely book rooms in advance! There aren’t many accommodations in the village🏡, we booked last minute and had very limited choices.
✅Don’t carry too much luggage, just bring essentials. If tired, you can ask villagers to help carry it.
