Welcome to the most romantic corner at the southernmost tip of mainland China—Xuwen Nanjicun! 🌊 This is the mainland’s version of the “Ends of the Earth,” where the unique geography surrounded by sea on three sides creates stunning coastal scenery. Every snapshot here is like a healing masterpiece~
【Must-Visit Highlights in Nanjicun】
📍 Dengloujiao
The huge coral reefs and towering lighthouse complement each other beautifully. It’s recommended to visit at sunset when the evening glow dyes the entire sea orange-red—truly breathtaking! This spot is also the dividing point between the Qiongzhou Strait and the Beibu Gulf, where you can experience the amazing feeling of “standing with one foot in two seas.”
📍 Coral Museum
Showcasing coral specimens unique to the South China Sea, the colorful coral world is perfect for family visits (free admission, remember to bring your ID). Walking towards the sea, you can also see clusters of coral stone houses built by local fishermen using materials from the area, which are very distinctive.
📍 Artist Village
A cultural space transformed from abandoned fishermen’s houses, featuring rainbow-colored coral walls, swings facing the sea, and a shell wind chime path... every corner is full of Instagram vibes. Order a glass of old salt lemon water and you could daydream here all day.
【Practical Tips】
1. For self-driving, set your GPS to “Nanjicun Tourist Center” which has free parking. It’s about a 2-hour drive from Zhanjiang city.
2. Don’t forget sunscreen and a sun hat! The UV rays by the sea are very strong.
3. Recommended to try freshly caught and cooked Xuwen small abalone and sandworm porridge. The most authentic seafood stall is under the big banyan tree at the village entrance.
4. If you want to photograph the starry sky, consider staying overnight. Nanjicun guesthouses offer sea views right from the window. Remember to book in advance during peak season.
