It's said that over 600 years ago, a white fox was injured and healed after soaking in the hot springs, thus giving rise to the "Legend of the White Fox." A giant white fox statue stands just outside JR Yuda Onsen Station, a landmark of Yuda. The area is also known for its free foot baths, with approximately six of them. Yuda's manhole covers are also quite unique, with various designs to collect! Even the Yuda Visitor Center has a free foot bath (I forgot to take a photo)! White foxes of various shapes can be seen throughout the town, some at intersections, some near foot baths, and some in the courtyards of residential buildings. They're incredibly adorable!
